With reference to the resignation by Mr.
C. W. Duggan of his post as Secretary of the Sanitary Board,
of which you informed me in your Despatch No. 101 of the 27th,
of last March, I have the honour to summit for your favour-
able consideration the name of Mr. G. À. Woodcock, who has
acted as Secretary to the Board since the 21st. March, 1900,
as a candidate for appointment to the vacant post.

I enclose a copy of letter from Mr. Wood-
cock to the President of the Board applying for the appoint-
ment, together with the Minutes of the Members of the Board
on the application, and a copy of the President's letter re-
commending the appointment and advising that the salary of
the office should be increased to $3,600 rising to $4,200 per
annum by triennial increments of $300.
